On February 24 - 25, 2025, a delegation from the University of Zakho, consisted of the President of the University of Zakho, Dr. Nadhim S. Abdulaziz, Vice President for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Jassim M. Abdo, Director of International Relations Affairs, Dr. Nizar I. Ali, and a lecturer at the Department of History, Dr. Mehvan M. Hussain, participated in the international cultural heritage preservation project entitled “Translation”. The event was hosted at the University of Duhok.
It is worth noting that this program is financially supported by the European Union, with the participation of four universities from Kurdistan, two European universities, two Yemeni universities, and the Italian UNIMED organization.

The program extends over a period of two years and it places a great significance on cultural heritage preservation of minorities in Kurdistan Region and Yemen. Moreover, it includes the participation and training of students from the partner universities involved in the project.
